How BasementBridge works

BasementBridge is a free introduction service for homeowners in the UK who need basement waterproofing or a cellar conversion. We are not a contractor, we do not survey properties and we do not carry out building work.

Matching is not open yet. We are not currently taking online enquiries or matching homeowners with specialists. Until matching opens, email hello@basementbridge.co.uk.

How it will work

1. You answer a few questions about your basement or cellar (when the online enquiry form opens).
2. You decide whether to share. On the last step you can tick a box agreeing that we may share your enquiry with one specialist. The box is never ticked for you, and if you do not tick it nothing is sent.
3. We match you with one specialist who covers your postcode and does the type of work you need.
4. The specialist contacts you to discuss your project and arrange a survey if appropriate. Any quote, contract and work are between you and them.

One specialist per enquiry

We share each enquiry with one specialist only. We do not sell or pass your details to several companies, and we do not use them to send you marketing.

How we are paid

The service is free for homeowners. Specialists pay BasementBridge a fee when we introduce an enquiry to them. That fee is paid by the specialist, not by you, and we do not add anything to your quote. You are under no obligation to use the specialist or accept a quote.

How specialists are selected

We aim to work with specialists who meet these criteria. We describe them as criteria, not guarantees, and you should make your own checks before agreeing to any work:

• they offer basement waterproofing and/or cellar conversion work in the area you are in
• they are a registered business whose details we have checked against public records such as Companies House where applicable
• they hold public liability insurance (we ask for evidence)
• they have agreed in writing to our terms, including contacting you promptly, using your details only for your enquiry and handling them in line with UK data protection law

We do not currently describe any specialist as vetted, approved or recommended. If a specialist mentions an accreditation or guarantee, check it directly with the organisation that issues it.

What happens to your details

BasementBridge is responsible for your details while we collect and match your enquiry. Once we share them with the specialist, that specialist becomes responsible for its own use of them as a separate (independent) controller.
