Who we share it with
One specialist. If you consent, we share your contact and enquiry details with one independent specialist who covers your area. We do not sell or share your enquiry with multiple firms. The specialist pays us a fee for the introduction.
Responsibility after sharing. Once we have shared your details, the specialist is a separate controller and is responsible for its own use of your data, including contacting you, quoting, keeping records and answering any rights request about the data it holds. You can ask us for the name of the specialist we shared your details with.
Service providers. We use providers who process data on our behalf under contract, such as website hosting, database and email providers: [PROCESSOR LIST – e.g. hosting, database, email providers and their locations]. Where data is transferred outside the UK we will use appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
How long we keep it
We intend to keep enquiry and contact details for [RETENTION PERIOD – proposed: 12 months from submission] and consent records and introduction records for [RETENTION PERIOD – proposed: 6 years, for contract and tax records], then delete or anonymise them. Enquiries that are not shared (for example, if no specialist covers your area) will be deleted within [RETENTION PERIOD – proposed: 30 days].
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting hello@basementbridge.co.uk. If we have not yet shared your enquiry, we will not share it. If we have already shared it, we will tell the specialist you have withdrawn, but you may also need to contact the specialist directly, as it is responsible for the copy it holds. Withdrawing consent does not affect sharing that took place before you withdrew.
Your rights
You have rights to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability and to withdraw consent. To use them, contact hello@basementbridge.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to help. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and restrict access to enquiry data to people who need it. No method is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Changes
We will update this notice if our practices change and show the new date at the top.
